How to add Polygon to Metamask

What is Polygon? Polygon is a L2 blockchain that operates on Ethereum—allowing for faster and more secure transactions. Polygon is Lithium's blockchain of choice and powers our ecosystem. You will need to add Polygon to your non-custodial wallet to utilise the Lithium ecosystem.

Adding Polygon to your non-custodial wallet.

Step 1: Go to https://chainlist.org/ and connect your wallet.

Step 2: Type "Polygon" or "Matic" in the search bar and click "Add to Metamask"

Note: transactions on the Polygon network requires MATIC which will be used as gas fee.

Alternative Set Up: Adding Polygon manually.

Step 1: Ensure you have installed the Metamask extension on your browser or have downloaded the Metamask app

Step 2: Create or import a wallet

Step 3: Connect your wallet to Polygon by clicking the toggle at the bottom of your Metamask. An "Add Network" field will appear.

Step 4: Input the following information.

• Network name: Polygon Mainnet

• RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com

• Chain ID: 137

• Currency: MATIC

• Explorer: https://polygonscan.com/

Click Save.

You have now connected to the Polygon Mainnet with your Metamask Wallet!
